Leaders serves a diverse group of English Language Learners. They include recent arrivals to the country who come able to read and speak little to no English as well as long-term ELLs who have received services since the beginning of their elementary years. Our ELLs come from a wide variety of countries and speak a diverse range of languages from Bengali and Burmese to Chinese, Cantonese, and Haitian Creole, from German and Georgian to Ukrainian, Urdu, and Uzbek, to Arabic and Spanish to name just a few!

75% of our ELLs gradute in 4 years compared to 41% in NYC and only 34% in NY State. 41% of our ELLs test out of of services while at Leaders, and 100% of those former ELLs pass the ELA regents. In addition, all of our ELLs write, present, and defend their Mastery Passage PBATs in ELA, Math, Science, and History in order to graduate.
English Language Learners 4 Year Graduation Rate
At 75%, Leaders' ELLs' four year graduation rate is more than double New York State's and 34% higher than New York City's.
