Claim 1: Improvement Over Time

In every class, all students produce complex and authentic PBATs that demonstrate craftsmanship.
High-Quality Student Work

Summary of Evidence:

Each year, PBATs grow more rigorous and complex, which leads to higher quality student work. Teachers develop tasks that emphasize craftsmanship and student choice, and through their research, planning, and writing students connect big concepts, engage in higher order thinking, and demonstrate original thinking. Through reflection and participating in quality work protocols, our ELA team decided to remove scaffolds that were built into the task, resulting in students not only taking more ownership in their final PBAT paper but also producing a more rigorous and complex final product. Are archived work from our quality work protocols shows students are producing more complex PBATs
